Join us August 19th for a presentation on Pure Water Southern California, presented by Kim Wilson, PE, Engineering Program Manager at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.

Pure Water Southern California (PWSC) is a partnership between the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts to transform cleaned wastewater that is currently discharged to the Pacific Ocean into a reliable, sustainable local water supply. At full buildout, PWSC will purify up to 150 million gallons of water per day, enough to supply more than 500,000 households, making it one of the largest advanced water recycling programs in the world. The program includes construction of an advanced water purification facility and over 40 miles of large-diameter conveyance infrastructure across Los Angeles County. The purified water will replenish regional groundwater basins, increase groundwater storage, and supplement Metropolitan’s drinking water supplies through indirect and direct potable reuse (DPR).

About Our Speaker:

Kim Wilson, PE

Engineering Program Manager, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California

Kim Wilson is an Engineering Program Manager for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, providing program management leadership for Pure Water Southern California. Ms. Wilson is also the Pure Water Conveyance Lead responsible for the planning and implementation of a new $5 billion conveyance system. She is a professional civil engineer in California with engineering degrees from Cornell University and Stanford University, with nearly 20 years of experience in the planning, design, and construction of water, wastewater, and recycled water projects in both the private and public sectors. She has been involved with Pure Water Southern California in various capacities over the past decade, starting as a project engineer and field PM during design and construction of the 0.5-mgd demonstration facility in Carson. Most recently, as Pure Water PM Team Manager and interim Unit Manager, she led the team of project managers responsible for delivering Pure Water projects for the demonstration facility, advanced water purification facility, and conveyance facilities. She is also a certified Value Methodology Associate and Envision Specialist.
